Clinical Research Assistant

Rayo Oyeyemi is a Clinical Research Assistant at the Center for Autism Research (CAR). She currently works on the SPARK research study, a multi-site study sponsored by the Simons Foundation. SPARK is the largest genetic study of autism ever and aims to advance our understanding of autism by studying genetic, behavioral and medical information.

Ms. Oyeyemi graduated from Yale University in 2020, where she earned a B.S. in Neuroscience. Her undergraduate research focused on identifying genetic factors that contribute to neurodegeneration, using the C. elegans animal model. She also volunteered with the behavioral health department of HAVEN Free Clinic, screening underinsured populations for depression, anxiety, and substance abuse disorders, as well as delivering evidence-based psychoeducation. In the future, she hopes to pursue a graduate degree in neuropsychology and to continue facilitating mental health outreach to diverse populations.
