Judith Miller

I am a clinical psychologist and have specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) for the past 18 years. As the Clinical Training Director for CAR, I lead our team of psychologists who both conduct evaluations in our Research Assessment Clinic and train the next generation of ASD diagnostic experts.
My research interests focus on diagnosis and classification issues in ASD, including screening and early identification, behavioral phenotype research, and the study of ASD and comorbid conditions. My most recent work has focused on helping pediatricians screen toddlers for autism, which requires identifying and overcoming barriers in real-world settings. I also work closely with scientists from a variety of disciplines from epidemiology, neuroimaging, genetics, and services research around diagnostic issues and clinical relevance. By working together, we can conduct translational research that will significantly improve our understanding of ASD as well as our ability to help individuals, families, and communities.
